  Do you think the age has passed when there can be no new religions?

  i think we are already living in the age where there can be no new religions.

  we have access to information like never before and anyone claiming revelations of something new and starting a whole new religion can easily be discredited.. christianity and islam may continue to subdivide but i think we've pretty much seen the end of anything new in terms of a new belief system.. .

  what are your thoughts on this?.

  If people will willingly pay over and over again to see this guy stare at them then it just proves there is a limitless supply of stupid people gullible enough to believe anything, so yes there will always be believers in any old twaddle.

  Are you factoring the date of 2008 which was around the crash, surely property prices fell after that bubble burst?

  I'm not saying all is well with this deal, I'm saying it may not be as bad as it 1st appears.

  the ibsa spent 6m buying two plots of land near wt house and spent another 10m on building and fitting out the flats.

  since there are only 15 flats there, that works out at over 1m/flat - and these are 2 bedroom flats only.

  similar flats nearby are marketed to the very top of the market.

  Best Fish and Chips

  so far i've had the pleasure of trying chips in victoria park village, falkners on kingsland rd, olley's in herne hill and that place in richmond which is full of oap (good sign?).

  Yeah fish and chips can be very hit and miss, have a look online for best one near you as they get awards if they are good and consistantly good.

  'Peace and Security' - What do you think?

  woke up this morning to my cnn app alerting me that popel francis has called for peace in the middle east, and is making arrangements to meet with leaders in that region to promote tolerance and acceptance.

  i've been out for almost a year now, inactive for almost two, but in that moment all of the jw teachings about the signs on the end, the cry of peace and security, and what would happen to those that aren't serving jehovah returned to me.

  24 years of teachings are hard to forget, and reading the story on cnn.com didn't help the situation.

  You forgot the "international roadmap to peace" that was supposed to bring "peace and security" to the Israel Palestine situation by October (what else?) 2005.

  Yeah it came to nothing and is just a forgotten footnote in the UN workbook.

  It doesnt sound like it, if you are not baptized then they have no sanctions they can use against you so why are you making any effort at all to quit, just quit.

  Everyone over the age of 5 years old should be mandated to carry a fully loaded assault rifle, a pump action 12 guage and a 9mm pistol. Failure to do so at all times would lead to a brain labotomy to remove all traces of a sense of humour.

  GAD amongst JWs and/or ex-JWs.

  i have been following the oscar pistorius trial, and as some of you would know, the way he grew up is said to have affected his psychy.

  he's said to traumatised and disturbed by his past.

  do we know if there are any ex-jws who were also diagnosed with the same or similar kind of mental illness/disorder?

  I've followed the trial closely and must admit the GAD stuff struck a real cord with me. I'm not diagnosed and likely never will be but i see a lot of the signs in myself.
